Cipher Post

Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Cipher Post ("the game") is published by Partech Systems Limited ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game handles, in the browser and in the Android app, and why.

Information we collect

We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect your name, email address or contacts. Your game progress and settings (postcards solved, stamps, decodes in progress, chosen look, sound and vibration preferences) are stored only on your device or in your browser. We can't access them.

Playing in the browser

The browser version at partechsystems.com sends no usage statistics and shows no ads. If ads are added to the browser version later, they will be served by Google and this policy will be updated.

Usage statistics

In the Android app, to understand how people play and to improve the game, the app sends usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase, run by Google. These include events such as starting and finishing a postcard, letters revealed, the settings you choose and which screens you open, together with basic device information (model, operating system, app version, country and language). Firebase identifies your copy of the app with a random app-instance ID. We don't send your name, email address, contacts or advertising ID, and we never use these statistics to target ads.

You can turn usage statistics off at any time in Settings → Share usage stats. Google's handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Firebase privacy information.

Advertising

The Android app is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect and process:

  • device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA (on iOS, only if you allow tracking)
  • your IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • device and app information, and how you interact with ads

This information is handled by Google under its own policy. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Your choices

  • Consent (UK, EEA and Switzerland): the app asks for consent before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • iOS: you can allow or deny tracking when prompted, or later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, deletes all game data stored on your device. For data held by Google for advertising or usage statistics, use the controls described above.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date above.
