Kept ("the app") is published by Partech Systems Limited ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
Your receipts stay on your device
You don't need an account. The photos you take, the text read from them, the receipts you save, the dates and reminders, and your settings are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. We can't see them, and the app never uploads them.
Reading a receipt (text recognition) happens on your device, using a model inside the app. Reminders are scheduled on your device. The home screen widgets read from the same private storage.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera, or a photo you choose, only when you add a receipt. The photo is kept with the receipt in the app's private storage, and deleted when you delete the receipt.
Usage statistics
To learn how well receipts are read and which features people use, the app sends usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase, run by Google. They record kinds of things, such as a receipt being added by photo or by pasting, whether a shop, date, total, return policy or warranty was found on it (yes or no, never what it was), whether you corrected any of them, where each date came from (the receipt, the law or you), a date being changed, a receipt being marked as returned or deleted, and a reminder's button being used. They include rounded counts (for example "11–30 lines"). They never include the names of shops or items, prices, dates, the text or photos of your receipts, or anything you type. Firebase adds basic device information (model, operating system, app version, country and language) and identifies your copy of the app with a random app-instance ID. The app has no advertising and doesn't use the advertising ID.
You can turn usage statistics off at any time: tap ⋯ at the top of the list and switch off Share usage statistics. Google's handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Deleting your data
Deleting a receipt in the app removes it, its photo and its reminders. Uninstalling the app deletes all your receipts from your device.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date above.
