Why it’s different

FreeCell you don’t have to squint at

Cards you can read

Big corner numbers in a typeface made for low vision, plain court cards and a choice of Large or Extra large. Four-colour suits are one switch away.

Every deal can be won

Each deal has been played through by a solver before you see it, so a loss is never the deck's fault. The odds are never adjusted.

Easy or Classic

Easy deals can be won using just one free cell, so you have three to spare. Classic is the full game. Deal numbers match Microsoft FreeCell.

Help when you want it

Undo as often as you like, always free. Hint shows a move on the way to a win and says it in words too. Three hints in every deal are free; after that, a short ad of your choice gives you another.

Today's deal

One deal a day, the same for everyone, to solve at your own pace.

How it plays

Sunroom FreeCell is the classic patience game laid out to be easy on the eyes. All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight columns, with four free cells to hold a card while you work and four home piles to build from ace to king. The corner of every card carries a big, bold number and suit, so you can read a whole column at a glance, and the court cards are a plain framed letter instead of busy artwork. Pick Large or Extra large corners, turn on four-colour suits, or put the free cells on the right if that suits your hand.

Every deal has already been won by a solver, so you never sit down to a game that can't come out. Choose Easy deals, which can be won with just one free cell, or Classic. Tap a card and it goes where it fits, or drag it yourself. Cards in order move together, and the game tells you how many you can move at once. Undo is unlimited, and a hint shows you a move on the way to a win, in words as well as on the table. Once everything is in order, the rest goes home by itself.

There are three tables to choose from: deep blue Delft, pale Porcelain for a bright room, and black-and-white Midnight for the strongest contrast. And there's a deal of the day, the same for everyone.

Tips

How to play well

  1. Keep a free cell spare

Every empty free cell lets you move a longer run in one go. Fill the last one only when it frees a card you need.

  2. An empty column doubles your reach

An empty column doubles how many cards you can move at once. The number under the deal's name tells you how many that is right now.

  3. Go for the aces and twos first

Low cards buried deep in a column hold everything up. Work towards them before building long runs elsewhere.

  4. Stuck? Ask for a hint

The hint looks ahead for a move that still leads to a win. If there isn't one, it says so, and undoing a few moves will find another way.

Questions

Asked and answered

Is Sunroom FreeCell free? Are there ads?

Yes, it's free to play in your browser. No ad ever interrupts a deal, and there are no banners. Your first ten deals have no ads at all; after that an ad may appear between deals, at most once every ten deals and never twice within five minutes. Undo is always free, and so are three hints in every deal. After those, you can choose to watch a short ad for another hint.

Can every deal really be won?

Yes. Every deal comes from a list that a solver has won, Easy and Classic alike. You can still get stuck by the moves you make, which is what undo is for.

What's the difference between Easy and Classic?

Easy deals are ones the solver wins using only one of the four free cells, so you have three to spare. Classic deals are any winnable deal. Choose in Settings; the change starts with your next deal. Today's deal is always Classic.

How many cards can I move at once?

As many as the free cells and empty columns allow, the same as moving them one at a time. The number under the deal's name tells you, and if you try to move too many the game says why.

Are the deal numbers the same as Windows FreeCell?

Yes. Deal numbers follow Microsoft's numbering, so deal 1 has the same layout as in Windows. The few deals our solver can't win, such as the famous deal 11982, are never dealt.

Will I lose my game if I leave?

No. The deal you're playing is saved after every move, so you can close the page or take a call and carry on later.

Where are my statistics saved?

In your browser on this device. There's no account, and clearing the site's data deletes them.
