Why it’s different

Word search you don’t have to squint at

Letters you can read

Big letters in a typeface made for low vision, dark on cream paper, and the word list in big type too. Choose Large or Extra large; the grid grows to fill your screen.

Tap or drag

Drag from the first letter of a word to the last, or tap the first letter and then the last. Tapping is much easier with unsteady hands.

Help when you want it

Tap a word in the list to light up its first letter, and again to see which way it runs. Hints are written out in words. Three a puzzle are free, then a short ad of your choice gives another.

Every puzzle is fair

Each puzzle is checked before you see it. Every word is in the grid exactly once, and the filler letters never spell anything rude.

Today's puzzle

How it plays

Sunroom Word Search is a classic word search laid out to be easy on the eyes. The letters are big and dark on cream paper, in a typeface designed for low vision, and the grid grows to fill your screen. The word list is in big type too, so you can read it at a glance.

Drag from the first letter of a word to the last, or tap the first letter and then the last: much easier if your hands aren't as steady as they were. Every word you find gets its own coloured band and is crossed off the list. If you're stuck, tap a word in the list to light up its first letter, and tap again to see which way it runs. Undo is always free, the first three hints in each puzzle are free, and there's no clock unless you want one.

There are three levels and 52 friendly themes, from garden birds to tea time, three looks (warm Terracotta, light Daylight and high-contrast Night), and a puzzle of the day, the same for everyone.

Tips

How to play well

  1. Look for the unusual letters first

A K, W, Y or Z stands out in a grid. If a word has one, find that letter and look around it.

  2. Read the list, then scan one row at a time

Pick one word and run your eye along each row for its first letter. It's slower than darting about, but you'll miss less.

  3. Remember the directions

On Easy, words only run across and down. Medium adds diagonals, and on Hard a word can run backwards too.

  4. Stuck? Tap the word

Tapping a word in the list lights up its first letter. Tap it again and it shows you which way the word runs.

Questions

Asked and answered

Is Sunroom Word Search free? Are there ads?

Yes, it's free to play in your browser. There are never ads during a puzzle and no banners. Your first ten puzzles have no ads at all; after that an ad may appear between puzzles, at most once every ten puzzles and never twice within five minutes. Undo is always free, and so are the first three hints in each puzzle. After that you can choose to watch a short ad for another hint, or carry on without one.

How do I select a word?

Drag from its first letter to its last. If dragging is awkward, tap the first letter, then tap the last letter. You can start from either end.

What's the difference between Easy, Medium and Hard?

Easy is a 7 by 7 grid with 6 words running across and down. Medium is 9 by 9 with 8 words, and adds diagonals. Hard is 9 across by 11 down with 10 words, which can also run backwards. Today's puzzle is always Medium.

Is there a time limit?

No. The clock is hidden unless you turn it on in Settings.

Will I lose my puzzle if I leave?

No. The puzzle you're working on is saved after every word, so you can close the page and carry on later.

Where are my statistics saved?

In your browser on this device. There's no account, and clearing the site's data deletes them.
